NC State Bar LAMP CLE/CPE

Continuing legal education hosted by Camp Lejeune, N.C. in cooperation with the NC State Bar Committee on Legal Assistance for Military Personnel (NC LAMP)
WHAT: An educational program addressing the SCRA, military pension division, landlord and tenant issues, financial support of dependents, ID theft, auto finance, legal ethics, special needs trusts, military physical disability evaluation, organization and function of court clerks, substance abuse/mental health, consumer complaints, and social security. 10 hours general CLE; 1 hour anti-substance abuse/mental health awareness; and 1 hour professional responsibility/ethics have been approved by NC State Bar.
WHO: The program is designed for military and civilian attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants who address the issues identified above.
WHERE: Marston Pavilion, Marine Corps Base, Camp Lejeune. Enter the main gate on Hwy 24. You will be on Holcomb Blvd. as you come through this gate. Follow Holcomb approx 4.8 miles to the traffic circle. Turn right at the circle onto McHugh Blvd. Follow McHugh approx 1.4 miles. The parking lot for Marston Pavilion will on the left just after you cross the Wallace Creek Bridge.

Department of Defense Attorneys - FREE
Military Retirees - FREE
Civilian Attorneys* - $100 ($75 if application & check received on/ before Sept 23)
*Fee does NOT include NC State Bar CLE fee of $3 per credit hour. NC attorneys requesting CLE credit should make out a separate check in the appropriate amount; e.g., if attending
the entire program of 12 CLE credits, check is $36. Make all checks payable to “NC State
Bar.” NO REFUNDS WILL BE PROVIDED.
CLE MATERIALS: Speaker outlines and slides will be posted online prior to the conference. Paper copies will not be provided at the conference. While the materials will be posted at the earliest opportunity, it is likely that they will not be posted until a few days prior to the conference.
LUNCH: The Paradise Point Officer’s Club is available to active duty officers, officer retirees, and their guests. A food court and several fast food restaurants is located on base a short distance from the CLE venue and is available to all attendees.

Application & checks must be received by October 4, 2011. Late registration for active duty and military retirees is available in person on October 13. (Others must register by October 4 to ensure base access.)
BASE ACCESS: Roster of attendees will be provided to the military police. Attendees without a Department of Defense vehicle decal should proceed to the visitor center at the main gate (on R side of street just before the gate), advise of CLE attendance, and provide registration, proof of insurance, and driver’s license to receive a temporary pass. Allow an additional 30 minutes in your planned arrival time if you do not have a DoD vehicle decal.
